- the importance of safe working practices and using equipment as specified to control the risk of potential injury, accident or illness
- employer and employee responsibilities regarding equipment use - the need for training, checks, maintenance and personal protective clothing
- the dos and don’ts in the use of electrical equipment, to reduce the risk of shock and fire
- that manual handling and good lifting technique involves planning, positioning and good posture
- how to lift safely to prevent injury
- how to recognise and manage fatigue in yourself and others
